Class of '62 Plans "Mini-Reunion" in June 2009

The G. W. Carver HS Class of '62 will be holding a Mini-Reunion on June 19, 2009. This one-evening event will be held at Memphis Sounds Bar and Grill located at 22 N. Third St., between Court and Madison, from 8 PM until. This event is free to all classmates; with an $10 charge for spouses or other guest.

Carver HS 50th Anniversary Celebration.

The Carver HS National Alumni Association (GWCNAA) held a celebration of Carver High School's 50th year anniversary during the Memorial Day weekend in May 2007. Click here to get more detailed information about these events.

Over 500 Carver HS alums turned out to celebrate the Christmas holidays at the Red and White Ball hosted by the G. W. Carver HS National Alumni Association.  The event grossed approximately $14,000, while expenses totaled approximately $7,800.  It was voted at the February 10th Association meeting to contribute $2,300 of the proceeds in a student scholarship fund.  Click here to learn more about that well-attended event as published in the Memphis Commercial Appeal newspaper.

Founding members of the G. W. Carver HS National Alumni Association met with the new principal of Carver HS to announce their intention to bolster support for students and staff at the school.  Click here to read more about this announcement as published in the Memphis Commercial Appeal newspaper.

GWC National Alumni Association meetings are held on the second Saturday of each month September through June of each year.  The meetings are held at Bloomfield Baptist Church located at 105 So. Parkway West. No meetings are held during the months of July and August.  The meetings begin promptly at 12 Noon and last until approximately 1:30 PM.  Association monthly meetings are open to the general public and both Carver HS alumni as well as other community members are urged to attend.
